Jie (pronounced as Jay) Zhao is a lecturer in the Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania. He teaches a graduate level course - Healthy Buildings: Science and Application.

His research focuses on Human-building Interactions, including healthy buildings, total building performance, occupant behavior in buildings, sensing and controls in buildings, health, comfort, and productivity of building occupants, as well as building energy efficiency and sustainability. He has published 20+ academic articles and serves as reviewers for 10+ top tier academic journals and conferences in the building science field. Here are examples of his recent journal publications:

Jie received his PhD in Building Performance and Diagnostics from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Tongji University in Shanghai, China.
