Valley Breeze: EBD Research Studio 2019

Created By:

Valley Breeze explores how mobile homes can make use of wind and pressure difference at different heights to create a consistent ventilation. In addition, a low energy dehumidification system has been designed, tested, and incorporated to further make the interior space in humid, muggy climates comfortable without having to use traditional HVAC systems. The height difference to create the air movement is achieved with a “Sun Room,” a double height living area that has programmable louvres to control airflow and also allow sunlight. The sun room not only works as a part of passive system, but also gives the mobile home an opportunity to have a unique spatial experience in a manufactured house.
